Founded in 1987 in Naples, Bikes for Tykes stemmed from a heartfelt idea: every child, regardless of financial circumstance, deserves the joy of owning a bicycle. It all began when our founder encountered Joshua, a 6-year-old whose Christmas wish was a bike. From that moment, Bikes for Tykes, was born. Since then, thousands of children in Southwest Florida have experienced the transformative gift of a new or refurbished bike.

At Bikes for Tykes, our mission is clear—to empower disadvantaged children and adults in our community to lead healthy lifestyles filled with fun and adventure, all through the provision of quality bicycles and repair services.

Building Stronger Communities

We offer a range of programs and services tailored to meet the diverse needs of our community:

  • Direct School Gifting: Partnering with schools to distribute bikes to children in need, fostering joy and independence.
  • Team Building Bike Builds: Engaging corporate teams in meaningful experiences, fostering teamwork while giving back to the community.
  • Bike Repair and Maintenance Support: Providing repair services to ensure that every bike continues to bring happiness for years to come.
  • Community Support: Requests from the community include serving as a SAG wagon for sponsored bike rides, helping with bike safety days, and supporting Sheriff's Office events.
